A new take on legacy.
The Client
Nativity Faith & Reason is a Catholic school serving preschool through eighth grade, located in Colorado. Founded in the ’60s, it was one of the first schools in the Broomfield area, and it carries a deep sense of heritage and community legacy. The school takes great pride in shaping future generations—and being Knights is a big part of that pride.
The Goal
The goal for this project was to create something truly unique for the school—something that really belonged to them. Since the school is part of the larger Nativity Faith & Reason parish, we didn’t want a design that felt disconnected, but we also wanted to give the students, staff, and parents something that was distinctly theirs—the Knights. Up until now, anytime the school needed a Knight image, they’ve had to rely on clip art and stock photos. My goal in working with them is to build a full ecosystem around the Knight, finding the best ways to apply it and creating a holistic brand that ties the parish and the school together… no more clip art! :)
The Outcome
After several iterations and months of work, we finally landed on the Knight you see here. This icon is designed to represent strength while still feeling welcoming and connected to both the parish and the legacy of Nativity. We stuck with the school’s red and blue colors, and also incorporated the Nativity star, which symbolizes the entire parish.
