Your healthcare should be about thriving.

Working with Kaiser Permanente for a few years on a number of projects in their mobile and web pipeline.

Below are a few of my favorite projects that we worked on. The primary being the KP iOS/Android App along with a very deep experimental prototype for tablet use. The primary app was simply the KP App, allowing the user to utilize everything their insurance provided.

The Flagship

Kaiser is one of the few unique health care providers in the United States that can be seen as a one-stop shop. They provide the insurance, providers, prescriptions, and everything else needed for your healthcare. This puts them in a very unique position. They are able to expose their services to their patient population via technology in a way most others can only dream of.

Because of that, they knew they needed to get out and lead the game when it came to a mobile experience. This app was created in the early days of custom applications, as you can probably tell by the skeuomorphic designs.

Their goal working with us was to create almost a “Dr. Note” paper feel to everything. It was a unique challenge but a fun one as a young designer.

The Prototype

The prototype on the tablet was an early exploration in taking episodic and chronic care into the patient’s own hands. Without going into all of the detail, this application allowed the user to take their health into their own hands while staying deeply connected with KP and the doctor network.

This was one of dozens of prototypes and proofs of concepts done with KP.
